Pain

Last night I couldn't get to sleep.  The big hernia was emitting a pain greater than I have ever experienced. It wasn't constant but the smallest motion could set it off, so fear of pain became the highlight of the evening.

Sarah came to bed around midnight.  I wasn't asleep but was moving my hands and arms trying to find the one pressure point that would relieve the pain.  That movement had her seeking another place to sleep after a short stay.

All the Tylenol in the world couldn't help this one.

Surgery can't get here soon enough.

  1. I think you can get pain relief on many street corners in big cities now that doctors are scared to prescribe drugs.

    1. All I had was Tylenol. It helped a little. After surgery, I had Hydrocodone. It did nothing for my pain so I went back to Tylenol. Three works better than two.

  2. I feel your pain. I would say I've been there, but I think you're having a rougher time than I did.

Lying down, and trying to apply some gentle pressure to settle things back into place was helpful before my surgery.

Not too much longer until you get some meaningful relief.

    1. My pain would come out of the blue, not consistent at all. But it hurt a lot. All better now, but recovery has been rougher than I had hoped. Back at work this morning, feeling much more normal.
