Who's Out There?

I have found that R&M gets read by a few followers.  It is now averaging around 30 to 40 page views per day.  Not much but much better than none.

I, of course, notice that it gets viewed more after I post something, especially the rare interesting pieces.

But I never know if it is people or bots reading.

I know that some want to stay anonymous, and some others want to comment but, for some reason, can't.

So, if you feel so inclined, please comment here.  If it won't let you, please send me an email to billleuthold@gmail.com.

Thank you,
Bill

  1. Hi,

I'm John, I help run a scooter club in Tucson Arizona and own a GT200 that I've raced.

I think I saw you on Modern Vespa when I Was more active on the site and added you to my RSS Reader.

    2. Hah!

I wish my bike had the speed of your two.

Mine is known for exploding transmission components, I melted a set of sliders and have had three belts go on it.

    3. I have had similar belt issues, but getting to 67,000 hard miles on Rocket, I must be doing something right.

    4. John, Rocket melted rollers when the outer drive pulley came loose returning from Gainesville earlier this year. The pulley rubbing against the cover produces enormous heat. The melted plastic got all over the variator too in the form of black crud. But I had an extra pulley with me and repaired it in Brooker. Then rode carefully home.

    5. I'm not sure what happened, But the heat was so intense it turned my crank blue.

The variator nut Melted through the air intake on the case, splines melted off the variator face, belt shredded, the works. *BOOM*

I'm swapping in a new engine.

    6. I am still riding Rocket with the same engine. The vent on the outside of the cover has melted, getting it close to the oil filler. The splines on the outer drive pulley stripped, but the crank was ok. Regardless, it is much better to not have to do these things while away from home on a ride.

    1. The hair is real. I saw the bus. That one might work but the double cab cuts the bed length.

  3. Bill there's no accounting for blog traffic. There are many Russian robots that's for sure. It's a mystery.

One day I hope we'll meet for a ride.

    1. I had someone read 40 pages in Germany yesterday. Probably a robot, but you never know. Ukraine is busy too. But much traffic comes from your blog, David, along with MV and the Scooter Cannonball site. I am still planning to ride to see Jim in the Adirondacks in early September. From there I would love to ride to Montreal. So we will ride one of these days.

  4. Hi Bill. I finally figured out your photo. Much smaller on MV. I'm guessing that's Sears/Willis tower or Hancock in Chicago?

    1. Yes, Dave, It is in those little glass boxes hanging out of the west end of the observation deck at the Willis Tower. I am almost finalized on transport and rooms for the big Wisconscoot. Looking forward to the visit.

  5. On the subject thank you for the shirt. I like the design. You have too much patience to be handling stuff like t shirts. I could ever do it.

  6. Michael, the tee shirts were just for fun. I liked the design that my daughter, Kylie, came up with and just wanted to celebrate. I enjoyed doing something that could let me reach out to the followers of my little R&M.
